MSM si sposta e si rinnova (a new location and exhibition)

Stay tuned!

Colleggiata di Sant'Orso - Aosta - The SATOR

This is a Circular Sator finds recently in the church of Sant' Orso in Aosta. This Circular Sator is in SQUARE, arranged second the points cardinals and measure 3,02 x 3,02 m. It's a mosaic black and white, with some trace of clear brown.
Later on to some jobs that had to be made the pavement where the altar of the church is found. This, in fact, introduces one "cripta" more lowland regarding the plan of the church, just below the chorus, that it comes dated at the moment of the construction of the "Collegiata" same (beginning XI cent.)
In the central circle there are an image of "Sansone".

Magic Square Music

Adam Neal wrote us
I recently found your site and it looks really cool. Unfortunately, I can't use Second Life because my computer is very slow, but I wanted to let you know that I recently made a video/music piece based on a 4x4 magic square.
You can see it on YouTube here:

Feel free to add it to the museum if you'd like and if that is possible!
Thanks for your consideration.

cheers,
adam

New entry at MSM, the Sator by Hunter Stabler

33 x 33 x 8 cm., 2009. Hand-cut(!)
Papercutting by genius "papershaper" Hunter Stabler, from the Strich & Faden Neocraft/Neotrad art exhibition at Kunstraum Richard Sorge, May/June 2009.
About the artist:
Hunter Stabler creates delicate cut paper compositions of elaborate patterning and religious/mythological symbols. His work involves a formal play between the illusion of space, actual physical shadow, and the flat two-dimensions of the paper. Stabler received his BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and his MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania. His work has been exhibited across the United States. He is a past recipient of the Royal College of London Exchange Program Fellowship, a Yale Norfolk Fellowship, a Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellowship, and was selected to collaborate with The Fabric Workshop Museum for the Philagrafika 2008 Invitational Print Portfolio.
